I will write this blog tomorrow!

Imagine… you have a very important task to do right now, this second. Your deadline is the next day and the task is quite big. You want to complete it so badly, you crave the appreciation. But something holds you back, something stops you from doing what you really should be doing, What?… The villain of our life is procrastination. Between intention and action lies procrastination.  It is when your brain says “do the work” and your heart says “lets just scroll through Instagram for a few more minutes”. What impact does this word have on your life? The magnitude of impact that this word can cause depends upon what you want to do and what you should be doing. In Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the prince is tasked with avenging his father’s murder. But instead of acting immediately, he spends act after act overthinking, questioning, and philosophizing: “To be, or not to be…” Hamlet contemplates life, death, and morality. He even stages a play to confirm his uncle’s guilt before confronting him.  All the while, his father’s murderer is still alive, opportunities slip by, and Hamlet keeps delaying action. This perfectly shows procrastination driven by overthinking and fear of consequences. Hamlet has the motive, the plan, and the opportunity , yet he hesitates. His procrastination leads to chaos, tragedy, and ultimately, death. Okayyyy… We know all this but what we don’t know or don’t try is how to delete procrastination from our life. There are many ways to stop procrastinating. For example; if a task takes 2 minutes to complete, do it immediately as quick wins trick your brain into feeling productive instantly. So think smart, act quick, stop procrastinating.
